Tourism in Hungary shows a remarkable increase

parliment

Budapest undoubtedly is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe and has always attracted visitors from near and far. During the Communist era it was the favourite meeting place for East and west German families and Lake Balaton was the most popular resort for families from Eastern Europe.
Since the breakdown of the iron curtain tourism has enjoyed a steady increase and provided a livelihood for almost half million Hungarians. Last year was an extremely good year; in the first half of 2015 the number of all foreign tourists visiting Hungary went up by 17.5%, which was four times the global average. The number of tourists arriving from Britain went up by 50% and from America by 56%.  To see the detailed statistics click here and here.
Based on last year figures this trend is expected to continue and even more tourists will pick Hungary for their holidays, and they won’t be disappointed, the lovely climate, plenty of sights, great food and friendly locals is a very good combination.
